Software licence agreement
This agreement is between Interwebbi Solutions, Liinakonkatu 12 B 9, 33580 Tampere, Finland (Business ID 3133828-2), called “we”, and you, the person or organisation that holds the licence, called “you”. It covers the InterDirector application for macOS and its updates, called “InterDirector”. By installing or using InterDirector, starting its trial or entering a licence key, you accept it. If you do not, do not use InterDirector. Nothing in this agreement takes away a right you have as a consumer under mandatory law. Written on 21 September 2026.
1. What you are given
We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use InterDirector on up to two Macs at a time, for as long as your licence lasts (section 4), to produce live and recorded shows, for yourself or for your clients. If you are an organisation, its own staff and contractors may use InterDirector on those two Macs.
InterDirector is licensed, not sold. We keep every right in it that this agreement does not give you.
2. Your licence key and your two Macs
- A paid licence comes with a licence key. Keep it to yourself: it is yours, and it is not to be shared, sold, published or used by anyone outside your licence.
- A key works on two Macs at once. Using InterDirector on more Macs needs more licences. You can free one of your two Macs at any time, in InterDirector or in the customer portal of our payment provider, and use the freed place for another Mac.
- We may end a licence key that is used against this agreement, for example one that is shared or resold, after telling you why.
3. The free trial
InterDirector can be tried for 14 days, once for each Mac, without paying. During the trial everything is unlocked and a small mark is shown on Program. The trial is for finding out whether InterDirector suits you. The mark is part of it and must not be removed or hidden.
To give each Mac one trial only, InterDirector sends our licence service a code worked out from the Mac’s hardware identifier, which cannot be turned back into it, and the Mac’s name. Section 6 and our privacy notice for customers say what happens to it.
4. How long your licence lasts
- A subscription lasts for the period you have paid for and renews as the terms of sale say, until you cancel. After you cancel, it goes on to the end of the period you have paid for.
- If you pause a subscription, the licence goes on working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops working until you resume the subscription.
- A licence ends when its period ends, when a payment fails and is not put right, when it is refunded, or when we end it under section 12.
- When a licence has ended, InterDirector still opens. You can open, edit, save and prepare Shows. The outputs that go to the world are refused: streaming, recording of Program and of inputs, NDI and Blackmagic output, and the external Program window. Replay is not affected. An output that is already running when a licence ends is not stopped: it runs until you stop it or quit InterDirector.
5. Licence checks
InterDirector checks that a licence is valid when it starts and now and then while it runs, through our licence service, which asks our payment provider. It never checks while an output is on air, and a check that cannot be completed (no internet, a provider that is down) does not stop InterDirector: it goes on with the last good answer for a limited time, the “grace period”, before treating the licence as unconfirmed. You need the internet to activate a key and to keep it confirmed.
6. What InterDirector sends, and what it does not
To check a licence, InterDirector sends your licence key, an activation code and the Mac’s name with a short code to our licence service, and for the trial the code and name in section 3. It does not send anything about your Shows, your inputs, your overlays or how you use InterDirector, and no hardware serial number. Your internet address is visible to the service, as it is on any connection. Update checks ask our update server whether a newer version exists. Details, and what we keep, are in the privacy notice for customers.
7. What you may not do
You may not, except as mandatory law allows despite this agreement:
- copy InterDirector, other than to make a backup and to install it on your licensed Macs;
- change, decompile or reverse engineer InterDirector, except to the extent that the law gives you the right to, for example to make it work with other software, after asking us first for the information you need;
- remove, hide or get round the licence check, the trial’s limits or the trial mark;
- rent, lend, sublicense or resell InterDirector or a licence key;
- use InterDirector to break the law or someone’s rights.
8. What is yours, and what is ours
Everything you make with InterDirector is yours: your Shows, your overlays and the streams and recordings you produce. We claim no right in them, and InterDirector does not send them to us. InterDirector itself is ours, or our licensors’. Its name and logo are ours. NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB; Apple, Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.; VST is a trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH.
9. Other people’s software in InterDirector
InterDirector includes software from others, under its own licences. They are listed, with the licence for each, in InterDirector’s third-party acknowledgements. Where such a licence gives you more than this agreement does, it applies to that part.
10. Updates
InterDirector checks for updates when it starts and once a day, and never installs one without you saying so. It does not check while you are streaming, recording or sending NDI. Updates are covered by this agreement. We may add, change and remove features. What changes in each version is listed in the changelog.
11. Support, faults, and what we are responsible for
Support. Write to info@interdirector.com. We fix reported faults as soon as we reasonably can, and welcome ideas, some of which end up in InterDirector. We do not promise a reply time or a date for a fix.
Faults. InterDirector is software, and live production is unforgiving. We have tested it on broadcasts of many hours, and we do not promise that it is free of faults or that it will never be interrupted. Test your own setup before an important show.
As it is. InterDirector is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty and no guarantee of any kind: not that it is free of faults, not that it will run without interruption, and not that it suits your purpose or your show. You use it at your own risk and you are responsible for testing it before you rely on it.
What we are liable for. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using InterDirector, or from not being able to use it, whether it is direct or indirect, including lost profit, lost bookings, a lost or spoiled broadcast or recording, lost data, or harm to your reputation or to your clients. Where the law does not let us exclude a liability altogether, it is limited, as far as the law allows, to what you paid for the licence in the twelve months before it happened.
Nothing in this agreement limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or the rights a consumer has under the law on digital content and digital services, including the right to have it in conformity with what was promised. Where you are a consumer, this section applies only as far as those rights allow.
12. Ending this agreement
You may stop using InterDirector at any time. We may end your licence if you break this agreement in a way that matters, and do not put it right within a reasonable time after we ask you to. When it ends, section 4 applies to what happens next, and what has been paid is treated as the terms of sale say.
13. Personal data
How we handle personal data in connection with licences, the trial and updates is in the privacy notice for customers. Buying is described in the terms of sale.
14. Changes to this agreement
We may change this agreement for a later version of InterDirector or for a new licence period. A change does not apply to a period you have already paid for, unless the law requires it or it is to your advantage, and you are told before you renew.
15. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by Finnish law. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live, and you may take a dispute to the courts of that country. A dispute with a business customer is heard in the Pirkanmaa District Court (Pirkanmaan käräjäoikeus) in Tampere, Finland. Consumers can also turn to the consumer advice and consumer disputes services of their own country.
