Changelog

What changed, release by release.

Written for the operator running InterDirector: what is new, what changed, and what was fixed. This page is generated from the release notes, so it says what they say.

2.38.1

2026-11-03 · build 2620

Fixed

  • External remembers which monitor each output was on after the Mac restarts. With two monitors, macOS can number them the other way round at a restart, and the Multiview (or Program or Preview) then opened on your main screen. Each choice now follows its own monitor, and a monitor that isn't connected no longer has its output opened on another one.

2.38.0

2026-10-29 · build 2617

Changed

  • A Blackmagic input holds its last picture through a short loss of signal, up to half a second, instead of breaking on Program and going to Reconnecting each time. A marginal cable that drops for a moment now shows as a brief freeze; a longer loss is shown as before.

Fixed

  • Input recording no longer reports "with problems" all show on the Statistics card after a hiccup when it started. The card counts an input while it is losing something now, as the Input Rec button does, and the pictures from just before you press Input Rec are no longer counted as dropped: they were never meant to be in the file.

2.37.0

2026-10-28 · build 2613

Added

  • Temperature and Tint in an input's Colour tab, as in Lightroom: one slider makes the picture warmer or cooler, the other takes out a green or magenta cast. They move the Red, Green and Blue white balance together, and follow them and a picked reference.

2.36.0

2026-10-28 · build 2611

Added

  • Right-click a cut mark's flag on the Recordings timeline to remove it, as well as with the trash button in the list.

2.35.0

2026-10-28 · build 2609

Added

  • Zoom in on a recording's timeline in the Recordings window, so a long recording's marks can be told apart: the magnifiers and slider beside Add Mark, ⌘↑ and ⌘↓, or a pinch, and Fit (⌘0) for the whole recording. The timeline shows its times and scrolls, and follows the playhead while it plays. A strip under it shows the whole recording, every mark and the part in view; click it or drag its box to move about. ↑ and ↓ go to the mark before or after the playhead, and a mark chosen in the list is gone to.

2.34.0

2026-10-27 · build 2607

Added

  • The SDI output in the Show's journal: when it starts, stops, reopens or fails on a connector, and each minute what every connector sent, repeated, dropped and showed late. A picture that drops out on SDI can now be traced.

Changed

  • A Media or Image input attached to a folder reads it again when a Show opens, so files added or removed while the Show was closed are in its list without pressing refresh.

Fixed

  • Dragging a slider no longer makes the window behind it flash. Colour, Key and Video FX sliders, Program's own colour and Video FX, a Composite layer's opacity, an overlay's number and replay speed saved the Show many times a second while dragged. The picture still follows the slider as it moves, and the Show is saved once, when it is let go, so a drag is now a single undo step.
